Agriculture (crops and livestock) is one of Montana's largest industries. Beef and wheat are the two largest commodities. Many other products are grown in Montana.
Crops: wheat, barley, sugar beets, sunflowers, and cherries. Livestock: cattle, sheep, hogs, and bees.

Montana can be divided into two geographic areas: the Great Plains and the Rocky Mountain Region.

The Great Continental Divide

The Western Continental Divide is an imaginary line along the summits of a mountian ridge in western North America. Most the the Divide runs along the Rocky Mountains. The ridge runs north and south. It separtes the flow of water on the continent. On the eastern side of the Continental Divide, the rivers run toward the Atlanic Ocean, Arctic Ocean, and the Gulf of Mexico. On the western side of the Continental Divide, rives flow toward the Pacific Ocean.
